Tearfund and the Teso Development Trust

Tearfund is a Christian relief and development agency working with a global network of local churches to help eradicate poverty. The ten-year vision is to see 50 million people released from material and spiritual poverty through a worldwide network of 100,000 local churches.

We at BEC support Tearfund in its sponsorship of aid projects, in which it partners with local relief efforts and agencies. We also make donations towards special relief work following human and natural disasters. Stronger links have been made with a partnering organisation in north east Uganda called the Teso Development Trust, working in the region of Seroti.

Through the supply of breeding goats, we have helped very poor families to generate their own income and become more self-sufficient. Alongside this, we have helped local pastors by providing them with their own copy of the Bible.
