Children’s & Youth

Crêche

The crêche operates during the Sunday morning services and is staffed by a team of volunteers. Children aged up to 2 years are catered for in this group and can be left with the team members on duty, allowing parents to relax and participate in the service, confident that their children are safe and supervised.

Mini-Proms

This group caters for children aged 3-4 years and provides them with activities, stories and participation in worship. Mini-Proms comes under the overall umbrella of Promiseland, but functions with its own group leaders. It meets during the Sunday morning service.

Promiseland

Promiseland is geared to children in the 5-11 age range. It provides a fun packed time that incorporates lively worship songs, prayer, story telling and smallgroups in which the children are helped to discover more about personal faith in God and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. The groups are arranged in narrower age ranges. Promiseland meets during the Sunday morning service.

Junction

In this group, young people in the age range 12-14 years are encouraged to think and talk about practical issues that relate to living out a personal faith in Jesus Christ. There is opportunity for discussion, activities and fun as well as checking out and discovering the power of prayer. This group forms part of the overall Focus Youth ministry but meets during the Sunday morning service.

Alberts

Alberts Youth Club, as with all our activities, is open to anyone from the community and has a waiting list for those who want to attend. It meets on Friday evenings and offers a very varied programme of fun activities, some of which are held in the church building, with others outside in summer or at other venues.

This is a very inclusive group and caters for children in the age range 9-12 years.

Focus

The Focus Youth Group welcomes young people who are 13-18 years of age. It provides an exciting mix of opportunities for social and spiritual interaction, with a fun-packed programme of recreational activities on Saturday evenings and a mid-week Junction on Wednesday evenings for spiritual discovery and growth.
Focus and Alberts are affiliated to Dorset Youth Association and therefore able to access resources and specific training for its leaders.

We are careful in the appointment of volunteers to positions of leadership or as helpers in our various groups, in line with our Child Protection Policy, and all are CRB checked before being permitted to work with the children and young people entrusted to our care.
