Easter egg giveaway
On Easter Saturday a team of twelve BEC volunteers ventured into the town centre and had great fun giving away 1,200 chocolate eggs. These had all been donated by people who attend the church.
Our intention in doing these projects on a regular basis is to demonstrate in a simple and practical way that we are here to give rather than take. We hope that in the act of giving with no strings attached, we enable our community to begin to grasp just how generous God has been to us.
The eggs were well received and we had some very positive comments from members of the public. Even those who could not accept them for dietary or health reasons were often grateful for the offer! Quite a few people took eggs for their children or grandchildren. We hope they enjoyed them and that at least some people may have been caused to think about the real meaning of Easter, prompted by the small cards we gave away with the eggs.
What do you think about this project?
