Churches come together
On Good Friday all the churches of the town came together for a short service outside the Parish Church at 10.30a.m. Easter is a commemoration and celebration of the pivotal event in the whole of human history.
In meeting together, we expressed our unity in diversity, expressed our thanks and praise to God for the amazing sacrifice of Jesus Christ, Son of God, on the cross and celebrated his victory over death. We declared our faith and trust in him as the one who has established the basis for our renewed relationship with Almighty God as Father.
Following the service, we marched around the centre of the town again as a witness to our faith as Christians, stopping at various points to pray for the needs of our community.
At the end of the march, we returned to the Corn Exchange for coffee, tea and hot cross buns. They went down well!
