As Senior Pastor, I want to add my welcome, as you visit us here and check us out. Please look around and we hope that we might see you at one or other of our activities.

My name is Brook MacCallum, married to Liz , who is also actively involved with me in BEC’s ministry. Our motivation and passion is to help others navigate through their experiences of life and help them discover the same forgiveness and unconditional love of God that we have found through personal faith in Jesus Christ and the renewed sense of hope and purpose he brings.

We are imperfect people, just like everyone else, yet knowing that we are accepted by God, not because of what we are but because of who he is and what he has done for us. We are already on this journey of faith, hoping that you will join us in this life of exploration and discovery.

Assistant Pastor

Chris Shaw joined the staff team in February 2010. He is married to Hannah and they have a three year old son William and daughter Isabel, born soon after they moved to Blandford from Rickmansworth. Last summer Chris graduated from The London School of Theology with a first class honours degree.

Prior to theological training, Chris and Hannah were involved in mission work with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) serving on teams in China and Manila in the Philippines. Further back, Chris has experience working as a Church-based Youth leader in an anglican church and part-time also with a Methodist Church in similar work.

Chris is a people person who cares about those who struggle with life’s challenges. For nearly two years he worked as a Project Leader with the Simon Community in central London, which operates residential projects and runs ’streetwork’ teams, working with homeless people.

His passion is to help others towards an understanding of God’s love for them through preaching, outreach, encouragement and support. He will also be engaging in teaching, training and resourcing those who are already followers of Jesus Christ and developing life-long discipleship.

Church Administrator

Our Administrator, Amanda Mitchell, is based in the Church Office Monday to Friday from 9.15a.m. to 4.15p.m. except for Friday (9.15a.m.-12.00noon). She deals with the everyday administrative duties, bookings, production of our weekly newsletter and the general duties associated with running the Church Office.

Amanda is usually the first point of contact through the Church Office and a welcome awaits you and perhaps a coffee too!

Pastoral Support

Support is provided for the Team on a part time basis by Robin Bragg, who is also part of the Church’s leadership team. He engages in pastoral visiting, aiming to maintain vital contact with those who for whatever reason are unable to get along to services or activities. Robin is also actively involved as part of the teaching and preaching team.

Core Leadership Team

The Core Leadership Team is made up of men and women who volunteer their time to give guidance and spiritual oversight to the congregation and along with the Pastors, to lead the Church forwards in our missional calling.
